A Journey Through Heavy Metal and Beyond

Founded in 2015 in Warsaw, Poland, Aquilla emerged from the remnants of a garage thrash metal band, serving as a springboard for mastering songwriting, live performance, and musicianship. Built on a foundation of passion for old-school heavy and speed metal, the band draws heavy inspiration from the New Wave of British Heavy Metal and New Wave of Traditional Heavy Metal, citing influences like Skull Fist, Enforcer, Riot, Randy, and Angel Witch.

Aquilla’s identity blends science-fiction themes with 80s aesthetics, crafting an original lore inspired by classics such as 2001: Space Odyssey, Dune, Alien, Blade Runner, and Interstellar. Through energetic live shows infused with nostalgia, the band tells the futuristic tale of humanity’s quest to find a new home among the stars.

Milestones and Performances

Over the years, Aquilla has played numerous gigs across Poland, collaborating with renowned promoters like Black Silesia Productions and Helicon Metal Promotions. The band has shared stages with acts such as Skull Fist, Striker, Jag Panzer, and Manilla Road. Although some performances with Gloryhammer, Cauldron, and Sabire were canceled due to the pandemic, Aquilla left a mark with standout appearances like their debut at Germany’s Trveheim Festival in 2019, where they were named a festival highlight.

The C19-Virus outbreak hindered only live shows, as Aquilla sealed in their Vault dedicated that time to expand their arsenal and develop further. The band returned with doubled power, hosting a pre-release party for their debut LP, Mankind’s Odyssey, and performing at events like Heavy Rock Total! Festival in Leipzig, Germany.

Tours and Releases

Aquilla embarked on their first international tour with Acid Blade, “Power Live,” in 2022, covering Poland, Germany, Denmark, and Sweden, including collaborations with Armory. Their second international tour in 2023, alongside Armagh and Species, spanned eight shows and concluded at Thunder Fest vol. X.

Released on February 22, 2022, Mankind’s Odyssey marked the first chapter in Aquilla’s sci-fi narrative. With the support of Ossuary Records and Jawbreaker Records, the album was issued on CD, Cassette, and Vinyl formats.

Recent Triumphs

In 2024, Aquilla won the Polish edition of Wacken Metal Battle, earning a spot at Wacken Open Air and securing second place in the international finals. In 2025 the band released their highly anticipated second album “Sentinels of New Dawn” in collaboration with High Roller Records label.

Aquilla continues to forge their path, combining heavy metal roots with a futuristic vision to captivate audiences worldwide.
